“30 Rock” scribe Kay Cannon () has signed an overall deal with 20th Century Fox Television.

Cannon at present is a supervising producer on “30 Rock” and a part-time actress. She’s been on staff of the NBC Thursday comedy since its inception in 2006 and was pursued for a development pact by several shops.

The studio’s tentative plan is for Cannon to move to the writing staff of Fox’s “New Girl,” where she will work with creator/exec producer Liz Meriwether on the Zooey Deschanel comedy. While on “New Girl,” Cannon will concurrently begin to conceptualize her own show.
